David Betancourt has mutliple roles at Cerritos College.

Professor Betancourt is Director of Bands, leading three ensembles each semester and promoting all music department areas and activities. Beyond performing as the showcase ensemble at various jazz and band festivals, the bands at Cerritos College take great pride in performing in countless civic events and participating in social outreach at hospitals and shelters.  The bands have drawn accolades from such luminaries as Mark Camphouse, Frank Ticheli, Frank Traz, Gary Gilroy, and John Carnahan.
